Yesterday we went to Pangyo (It's sort of like the Silicon Valley of Korea) which is about 1 and a half hour ride from our office, to give a keynote in front of thousands (well more like 50 more or less) of game industry's hopefuls at Inven Developer Conference. Inven as some of you already know is probably the biggest gaming related website in Korea, comparable to IGN or Gamespot.
The one and only Mr. Yun, the big boss man of Jandisoft took the stage with his face proud, some may even say arrogant, without showing any nervousness which impressed a lot of his colleagues who now no longer doubt that Mr.Yun is a man of steel heart.
The title of the keynote was "HTML5, Cross-platform, and MMORPG feat. Mad World. We just had to add Mad World there in hope of raising the awareness of it. Well, you gotta take any opportunity that comes your way, right?
So you don't have to be a rocket scientist to know what we talked about there. In the middle of the keynote, the god-cursed powerpoint stopped working making people have to endure 10 minutes of awkward silence (Smartly enough, Mr.Yun quickly figured out a way by taking the opportunity to do a question and answer session).
All in all, we think that we delivered a reasonably good keynote (one of our staff actually gave it a 10 out of 10), and hope that it can leave a long-lasting impact to young people in Korea thinking of entering the game industry so that they will think differently, go where no one has gone, and pioneer, which we are always striving for but yet to accomplish.
But we know the journey's worth a try...
@WatchGintama That's exactly what we want to do with HTML5, making this game accessible anywhere. There are and will be some challenges but we will learn and figure out a way around, which s what game development is all about. Cheers!
